Instructions for Submitting Images:
Images can come from many different sources; personal pictures, artwork, scanned images, magazines, newspapers, etc. When submitting your image material follow some basic guidelines.
|
1. Make sure the image is no larger than 8" x 10". Please do not send larger items and ask us to
try to attach them together.
2. Images smaller than 2"x 2" seldom can be enlarged without losing significant detail.
3. If you are wanting only a portion of the submitted image, please crop it beforehand or indicate
by some means the area to be a transfer. This can be done in a couple of ways; you can place a
piece of paper over the item with a hole cut into it to indicate the area or you can cover the item
with a piece of wax paper and use a marking pen to indicate the area for transfer.
4. Remember: Bad photos, etc, make for bad transfers. If the photo you submit has been run
through the wash, well, that’s the way it will look on your shirt.
5. If you are sending One-of-a-kind photos, artwork, etc. please, please, please, send it via
insured and certified mail. Also include prepaid insured and certified postage and return
packaging if needed. We can not be held responsible for items lost in the mail.
6. Finally, be very sure to double and then triple check your submission.
Images
Format
- Preferably, images should be saved as JPEG's or GIF's (with the ".jpg" or ".gif" file
extensions). If you require help in converting an image to one of these formats, see our
guide. We will also accept bitmap images (with the ".bmp" file extension), but because
these files are much larger we prefer customers to convert to JPEG's or GIF's.
Size
- Before sending an image you should test to see its size. A desktop publishing package
such as Microsoft Publisher is ideal for this. Insert your image into the desktop publisher
to gauge it's size on an A4 piece of paper. If the image is too small or big it doesn't
matter as long as the image quality is still to your satisfaction when you resize the image
to your desired size. Please note when resizing an image that you should leave a 2.5cm
border between the edge of the image and the page to ensure the whole image can be
printed. Once the image is resized, copy it and paste it back to your image package, then
save it as a JPEG or GIF. Images will be printed in the size we receive them, so please
ensure they are big enough to stand out but still fit onto an A4 page before you send
them.
Sending
- Images may be E-mailed to Custom-Tees, although if you have web space of your own it
would be helpful if you could upload the image to your web space and send the URL of
where the image is located to Custom-Tees to be downloaded. If you are E-mailing
images, please ensure the combined size of your images does not exceed 2MB
otherwise the E-mail will be rejected by our E-mail provider. If the combined size is over
2MB, please send images in separate E-mails, or use win zip to compress your files.
Please include your name and address with all E-mails containing images to prevent
mix ups.
